Murphys Creek Escape & Hideaway
Murphy’s Creek Escape is a picturesque bush campground only ten minutes off the highway, but a million miles from nowhere! We offer luxury glamping, powered, unpowered, large group and remote camping set in amongst the tall gums and eucalypt trees. Our campground is set on the top of a rugged canyon cut out by the floods of 2011; offering magnificent scenery and limitless exploration. Our creek is seasonal but our Eco Billabong is available year around. There is a 3.4m railway bridge on our access (Thomas) road with no other access available.
Bring your pets – they are welcome here. Pull out your camp oven, light a fire and create some delicious camp-fire food (mmmm damper). Grab your book (or your craft project), pour yourself a drink and sit back, relax and hang out with your mates. If you’ve got the time, pull out your binoculars and see what wildlife you can spot. The goannas instill awe whenever they appear and the birdlife is incredibly diverse with over 300 species noted on the property.
Our aim is to help keep your children (and the young at heart) occupied so parents/grandparents/carers can relax, recuperate and refresh. We have a gorgeous Ecopool offering a unique opportunity to swim in crystal clear, fresh water with the fish! Kid will explore our creek bed for hours rock hopping, exploring crevasses, playing in puddles and playing in the sand. Archery, a medium ropes course, a giant swing and a technical mountain bike track offer adventure on Saturdays and school holidays. Our school holiday and long weekend programs are packed with activities for both kids and adults. Make sure you pack the bikes!
We have hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, a large open BBQ area with fridge, freezer, electric BBQ, microwave, kettle, toaster, seating and washing up facilities, two kids playgrounds and a small store selling the basics (drinks, ice, ice creams, firewood, local crafts).
